We want to continue our relief efforts by partnering with NC Baptists in their desire to repair at least 1,000 homes affected by the storm. We are still working out the details but plan to begin in January 2025 and have already scheduled 10 teams.
We are asking Missouri Baptist churches to recruit construction teams to help us meet this goal. Team members do not need to be trained in disaster relief to participate.
Who: Missouri Baptist church members, 18 years and older, with a good attitude, works well with others in difficult conditions. Teams should have a ratio of 1skilled construction worker per 8 volunteers. Fewer volunteers is ok.
What: Repairs to homes affected by Hurricane Helene. Mainly replacing floors, doors, interior walls, siding, some electrical, some plumbing, etc.

Cost: Mainly travel, food will be provided at the site and housing is bunk room style (bring your own bedding). MODR will provide a secondary, temporary, accident policy (this is not health insurance, but available to help offset potential costs associated with accidents). Materials are provided.
Tools: Bring your own tools, however, there will be some available on site but clear this with the coordinator before you depart Missouri.
